About

I build in public so you don’t have to guess.

I’m Luke Smith. Online I go by The Ventilator, because my job is letting fresh air into stuffy workflows. For six years I’ve been building a one-person business out loud: newsletters, digital products, a YouTube channel and a lot of experiments that didn’t work.

This library is the useful part of all that. Everything here is something I made for myself first, tested on real projects, then cleaned up so you can use it today.

Portrait of Luke Smith

The short version

Six years, one person, a lot of shipping.

2020

The first newsletter

Started writing a weekly email about building online. 40 subscribers, mostly friends.

2022

The first product

Turned my Notion setup into a $19 template. It paid the rent for a month and changed everything.

2024

Going full-time

Left the agency job. Products, sponsorships and YouTube became the business.

2026

The Ventilator

Everything I’ve made, in one library. Free to start, Pro for the lot.

How I work

Three rules for everything in the library.

Practical over perfect

If it doesn’t help you ship something this week, it doesn’t go in the library.

Show the numbers

Launches, revenue, mistakes. Real data beats motivational quotes every time.

Free stays free

Free products never move behind a paywall. Pro adds more; it never takes away.
